Biography: The Alex entity was born and raised in NYC, his was a boring life and remained so until his 19th year of life when Alex discovered…RAVES, and it changed his life forever. Now Alex contributes his INCREDIBLE EYES to RAVECLiCK.com as photographer and visionary, EXTRAORDINAIRE!
Alex first experienced electronic music of varying sorts at a very young age in his life. His cousins would play hard techno and trance from Europe since it was a very popular genre out in Colombia. The music gripped Alex’s mind and soul and never let him go. All forms of Techno, Trance, Drum n Bass, House, Funk, Soul and Breaks, there is not one genre he does not find joy and life in, it’s an extension for him, a way of life when there is nothing else to hold on to, the music is always there.
Being part of RAVECLiCK, Alex hopes to give to others what he has experienced over the years since his introduction to the culture, a culture that is truly wonderful and magnificent. Not only for the music but also because of the vast majority of people involved and the overall attitude that is not found anywhere else. He has taken part in many club and nightlife activities since the young age of 14 as a promoter for Latin and hip hop/reggae/rap clubs; it took many years of exposure to finally discover his true calling for electronic music.
Alex also continues to study Japanese and will teach overseas in Japan. He does work a shitty day job for the time being and in the afternoons devotes the vast majority of his time to perfecting a style and technique of his own on the turntables. Alex mixes, under the alias IamSamurai, a variety of DnB, Trance, Techno, House, Funk, Soul, Breaks and even Hip Hop/Rap and has even experimented with producing a few electronica and funk house tracks. He can currently be spotted at most parties/raves and a few weeklies as well. If you see him holding and pointing his camera, smile or be free, don’t pose he loves to capture the natural essence of the soul and body being shaped by the music, just let everything go…
